- EMPIRE, The Wargame of the Century
-
- The attached program is "EMPIRE, The Wargame of the Century" is to
- be published by Interstel Corp. and distributed by Electronic Arts in
- late July or early August of 1987. The program is an explore and
- conquer wargame which allows two or three players, any of which can be
- human or played by the computer. We are especially proud of the
- interface between the program and the player, allowing the player to
- play the game instead of fighting with the computer.
-
- The demonstration enclosed if a real game of EMPIRE with the
- computer playing itself. Just click on EMPDEMO.PRG in medium or high
- resolution to run the demonstration. After the game has started, the
- program will pause at the end of a turn if you strike any key. You can
- then examine the board, the command structure or even quit the game at
- that point. If you wish to resume the game, just select Move out of the
- menu (or <M> works as well). I've spent hours watching the computer
- play itself in order to improve the artificial intelligence and have
- found it quite addictive. So I hope that this demo gives some
- entertainment value as well as selling a few copied of the entire game.
-
- You can get more information about the game from

-
- Oh, yes, the program can be run from any drive or directory
- (including a hard drive or RAM disk). The support files need to be in
- the same directory as EMPDEMO.PRG or they can be in a sub directory
- called EMPIRE.
-
- Enjoy.
